There are a number of entertaining TV shows on cable these days, and many viewers are tuning into their cable channels like HBO and Showtime in favor of traditional networks like CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox. The quality of cable TV comedy shows has risen in recent years, and it seems that this trend should continue for quite some time. These shows have been able to attract top notch actors and great writers. Here are three shows worth checking out if you don't watch these already.

1. Curb Your Enthusiasm. There seems to always be something interesting happening to Larry David each week in this entertaining show. Some call it the funniest show on television, and many fans of Seinfeld swear that Curb is better than Seinfeld. It's definitely worth watching if you liked Larry David's Seinfeld.

2. Californication. A very original TV show that stars David Duchovny as Hank Moody, a successful novelist living with his daughter in Los Angeles. Hank has an on again off again relationship with Natasha McElhone, and always yearns to win her affection - in the process though, he has many women falling over him.

3. Bored to Death. This is the newest of the three, as the show is currently in its first season. Many have quickly fallen in love with this comedy, which stars Jason Schwartzman and Ted Danson. This involves Schwartzman, who plays writer Jonathan Ames but moonlights as an unlicensed detective. There are many hilarious moments in this show and it's certainly worth a watch.
